Preparing For Easter

We were able to end our week attending a performance at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido with a couple of friends.  What a wonderful evening of worshipping our Savior through uplifting music.  This really helped us prepare for Easter and think more about the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

In April General Conference of 2023 Elder Gary E. Stevenson said

Dear brothers and sisters, the time has come, foretold by prophets of old, “when the knowledge of a Savior shall spread throughout every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.”8 We are seeing the fulfillment of this prophecy before our very eyes, through the witness of Jesus Christ found in the Book of Mormon.

The Lord Jesus Christ

No book does more to show that:

  • Because of Jesus Christ, everything changed.

  • Because of Him, everything is better.

  • Because of Him, life is manageable—especially the painful moments.

  • Because of Him, everything is possible.

His visit as a resurrected Savior, introduced by God the Father, is a most glorious and triumphant Easter message. It will help our family members gain a personal testimony of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer, who broke the bands of death. The Book of Mormon shares the greatest Easter story ever told. Let it not be the greatest Easter story never told.

I invite you to look at the Book of Mormon in a new light and consider the profound witness it bears of the reality of the risen Christ as well as the richness and depth of the doctrine of Christ.

This year we have taken that invitation and have had an increased appreciation for what the Atonement of Jesus Christ means in our lives.  As missionaries we have witnessed first hand how His Atonement has blessed the lives of others that we have worked with.

We had a very busy week with visits and service but we were able to squeeze in a few fun things-

We visited Queen Califia's Magical Circle in Kit Carson Park in Escondido.

We drove by the Flower Fields in Carlsbad and enjoyed the view.

And we enjoyed a visit from this little girl (and her dad haha)-

We also had the opportunity to teach another class on adding memories on FamilySearch in another ward's Family History Activity.

As our time here on our mission grows shorter, our days get busier making the time fly.  We love our mission and the memories we are making here.
