Meet Our Mission President and Other Amazing Missionaries

This week we had Zone Conference which we love attending.  Not only do we get to see and meet with half of the missionaries in our mission at once but we always have inspiring and uplifting training from our Mission Leaders both young and mature.  Our housing and car missionaries always find a way to inform us of rules and standards while entertaining us.

That is Elder Scott wearing an altered suit.  Sister Scott taught us that the missionary standards are to keep us safe and we don't alter the missionary standards. They are the behaviors and Christlike qualities missionaries are expected to practice and develop during our missions as we become a more dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.  An example of this is to always stay with your companion.

This is Elder Walker, he is one of three assistants to the President or an AP in missionary slang. This is Elder Walker's last transfer and I wanted a picture to remember him by.  Before he was called to be an AP, Elder Walker served in our zone and we grew to love him.  He is a very positive, enthusiastic missionary.  Whenever someone is speaking he is always nodding his head in agreement enthusiastically.  He is willing to do anything for his Savior and works really hard to glorify his name.  We love Elder Walker.

President and Sister Carter are wonderful Mission Leaders, who made everyone feel loved and important as they invite us to work hard and come unto Christ.  They works so hard and tirelessly and deeply care for each missionary.  We are so blessed to serve in this mission with them.

Mark T. Carter and Shauna G. Carter are from Enterprise Ward, Morgan Utah West Stake: they have been serving for a year in the Newport Beach, California Mission.

We always enjoy it when both President and Sister Carter does training.  What really stuck out to me this conference was when President Carter was talking repentance which is to turn from sin.  On the chalkboard he had two lists- one how we feel when we sin, and how we feel when we repent.  The missionaries came up with some good word for both list. The list of words on repenting were so pleasing such as peace, love and joy.  What President Carter said next has really stuck with me.  If repenting bringing such relief and peace to one's life why wait to repent?  Why would anyone wait to feel that peace, love and joy?  President Nelson has taught us about the joy of daily repentance and now President Carter has asked why wait?

It was another wonderful Zone Conference.

This week we also had our monthly Adult Family Home Evening. It is amazing how fast these meetings come around.  We enjoyed a wonderful lesson by Bro. Chalk and as always had some yummy food.  This gathering has been a great opportunity for us to bring members who don't always have the ability to get to church on Sunday. Here they are able to make friends and have an uplifting message.  We have been able to bring someone new each time.

This is the pool in our complex.  We are definitely spoiled.

We traveled up to Camarillo this week to enjoy some family time as our granddaughter and her boyfriend were visiting from San Francisco.  We enjoyed an nice dinner out for her birthday.  Family time is wonderful but always seems to pass by too fast.

Our Stake President likes to have the missionaries that serve in his stake over for breakfast periodically.  This Saturday was our first time attending.  We had a wonderful breakfast after which President McMasters counseled us.  He said for us to not get discouraged but to do our best, God will accept our work.  This was some very wise counsel.

The sister missionaries in our zone- Sister McCraken, Sister Knippers, Sister Johnson and Sister Christiansen

It was a wonderful week.
