Last District Meeting and More Good-Byes

Getting ready for our nacho bar

We attended our last district/zone meeting this week and announced our winners for the shiniest apartment.  Amazing enough we had four companionships that tied for the cleanest apartment so we gave all of them a certificate and drew a name for which companionship took the trophy home.  Afterwards we served the missionaries a nacho bar and said our good byes.

At our last day serving in the Family Search Center, the director had a good bye pizza party for us and gave us a copy of Pres. Nelson's book- Heart of the Matter.  It was hard to say good bye to all our friends that we have worked with in the past year.  We loved our time in the Family Search Center.

And we had our last day of pickle ball with our good friends, Tim and Carol.  We had many fun hours of play.

We attending a temple session at the Newport Beach Temple with President and Sister Carter and all the departing missionaries for this transfer.  Matthew drove down from Camarillo to join us. What a special memory this day made for us!

Last week, Joe gave his good bye devotional at our weekly Senior missionary zoom and this week, I gave mine.  I talked about all the wonderful blessings that we have received from serving this past year in the Newport Beach, California mission.  I say that there are three different categories of blessings- the people we met and love, the learning experiences that help us come closer to Jesus Christ and the blessings to our family.  All of these blessings were much more than what I had expected.

We also had the opportunity this week to met our new great granddaughter and have a four generation picture taken.   Our week has been truly blessed.
