The Young Missionaries Have Tranfers

Our young missionaries serving in the Double Peak Ward went from a car area to being on bikes.  So during transfers they had to drive to the mission office and turn in their car along with another companionship in our district.  Because they needed a ride back to our area, we were able to attend the transfers.  All the missionary companionships in the mission that were being changed meet at the mission office in Irvine.  Missionaries are only told that they were being transferred not who their new companions are or where they are going until the meeting.  Everyone gathers in the cultural hall and the mission president then announces the new companionships and they then gather their luggage and head off. It is all very organized and very confusing at the same time!  We really enjoyed watching the action and especially getting to know two new missionaries in our district on the drive home.

Elder Houser, Wetsel, Walker, and Blaney is in the backseat.

Besides visiting members in assisted living communities and getting to know many ward members through visits, we also visited the FamilySearch Center located in our ward building.  It is so much bigger than our Center in Seneca and has ten computers!  We were very impressed.  We also agreed to work in the center once a week, which will be so much fun.  So Celeste and Beki- yes we are doing family history work on our mission.

We meet every week with our district and this week because of the transfers there were many new faces to get to know.  We just adore our young missionaries.

Two ways that we know that we are back in California is everywhere we look there is an IN-N-OUT. And we keep forgetting to take our bags into the grocery stores so we have to run back to the car and get them.

As busy as we are with visits, and meetings, we still have time to attend the temple every week and spend time with our children and grandchildren that live close by including this cutie-

Alma 31:35

Behold, O Lord, their asouls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee.

This is our prayer as we serve our mission here in the Newport Beach, California mission.
